The Technical Engagement Engineer will be responsible for building relationships with FE colleges and training providers across the UK including some support in Ireland. Forging strong relationships with providers give the business an opportunity to speak about our product offering whilst being able to deliver meaningful technical content to them including sessions for training apprentices. The role covers our training offering of City and guilds and would be the responsible person for ensuring the running and delivering of technical qualifications.
Main Duties
• Responsible for the management of their own diaries arranging appointments with prospective colleges and training providers. Building strong relationships with head of training is key to success within training providers.
• Organising their own content to be delivered in front of students and lecturers (with the support of the team)
• Supporting on events across the country where needed
• Involvement with any competitions that arise
• Head up the running of our City and guilds training academy ensuring the business is compliant and deliver training courses as needed.
• Deliver basic electrical training to our sales teams to ensure they have an understanding of the products they sell.
• Ensure we are positioned in the FE as the main provider to students for quality materials for the jobs they will be undertaking.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrotechnical Buildings and Structures
- Level 3 Initial Inspection and Testing & Periodic Inspection Reporting
- Holds the latest edition of BS 7671 wiring regulations, level 3 qualification
- Has the ability to articulate themselves to individuals and larger groups of people
- Has the ability to deliver technical content to a non-technical audience
- Has demonstratable experience in leading individuals and groups of individuals
- Has demonstratable experience of resolving problems related to day-to-day operations, technical and resources
- Has the ability to organise their own diaries
Desirable
- Level 4 qualification in Electrotechnical Installations, or equivalent
- Has experience with dealing with City and guilds and their platform
- Has completed training in communication skills, or equivalent
- Has commercial awareness of the business and understands how to sell products
